The Unexpected
Between my afternoon and evening class today I left the building to get a snack. So I was walking down 14th street and as I passed the Salvation Army building I saw a man emptying large sacks of potatoes and distributing them into smaller sacks. There was a sign on the table that read: Free Potatoes. I can safely say: you don't see that every day. I didn't see anyone accepting these gifts of potatoes, but when I came back after my snack the man, the table, and the free potatoes were gone. The potato sacks were in a large garbage bin.

no, you don't see "free potatoes" every day.
those would really help a homeless person, if only they had something and somewhere to cook said potatoes.
did some nutty restaurant owner on 14th st. have excess potatoes?
